austriawere the better team imo, croatia were garbage!!
they have nothing up front and apart from the penalty they never once looked like scoring, on that performance i cant see them getting past the 1/4s thats if they get out the group, if they play like that they will lose both games to germany and poland, but they got the win and thats al that matters returns of £9.40 with another £4.40 profit added to the kitty!! |
Have to agree there....brings Poland right back into the reckoning whatever happens tonight ....but we got lucky and thats all that matters..

Tomorrows matches
Two quality games for us footie fans from the group of death..
Romania v France The French have always promised so much and in the world cup final it was there for the taking but once again the French came off second best. They should be too strong for Romania who look the team the others in this group will all be looking to beat easily. But the French are usually slow starters and maybe a little shock could be on the cards here.......i reckon it could be a 1-1 draw which might not be a bad result for both teams. Italy v Holland. A cracker of a game and one i think the dutch can win. The under achievers of world football get a chance here to prove they have got a team capable of winning a big tournement and with the Italians the preverbiall slow starters in most comps the dutch could take advantage in what i think will be a game with goals...3-1 to the Dutch is my selection. |
Romania v France
No one wants to loose the first game and in this group this is vital, I have to say I have not been impressed with the French in the last two major tourneys, and in this group, I cannot see that improving. I have to say that I see this game as being 0-0, however my reservation is that Romania have failed to score in only 3 of their last 14 games! France dont conceed many, but usually win 1-0 or 2-0 Problem is that I really don't rate the french team, so my bet would be ROMANIA or the DRAW @ 1.83 with a back up bet of HT/FT Draw/Draw @5.0 If the French defence cancel out the Romanian attack Italy v Holland. A tough game - could go either way - Italy are flaboyant, but irratic. Holland don't have many 0-0 games - I think a Goal line bet is the best bet in this instance and as such I would choose OVER 2/2.5 @ 2.29. |

i can defiantly see romania getting something out of this game and bet365 go romania +0.5 @ 2.05 (romania not to lose) it wasnt that long ago (2002 world cup) that france got knocked out without even scoring a single goal!!! imo they are overrated best bets for me are........... romania not to lose @ 2.05 or halftime draw @ 2.10 for value i like ht draw ft draw @ 4.75 i really fancy holland to beat italy, but you never know what ur going to get with italy, so id go DNB on holland @ 2.18 for abit of value i fancy ht draw ft holland @ 7.00 both games scream unders to me |

France / Romania the draw but i think there will be goals in the Holland / Italy match ........what about the two being draws at ht and a little saver bet on.....France game DRAW and Holland TO BEAT Italy?
Or France UNDERS and Holland OVERS ? Also i thint HOLLAND are a massive price to win the whole tournement what about a few pound on them at around 12/1 ? This looks value and also gives us a team to follow.. |

SPAIN VS RUSSIA and GREECE VS SWEDEN so far we have been doing very well in our 3 choices, on saturday 2 of the 3 choices were winners and yesterday all 3 choices were winners, so yesterday it didnt matter what we backed we would have won! :clap: if we carry on like this we really are going to give the bookies a bashing todays choices to vote on are............ romania not to lose @ 2.05 both games to be draw at h/t @ 4.20 france/romania under 2.5 goals and italy/holland over 2.5 goals @ 4.33 even if you havent left an opinion on todays games, you can still leave you're vote the more votes the stronger the selction becomes cheerz guys :cool: |

Tomorrows thoughts...
Spain v Russia....The Spanish seem to bottle it at the later stages but usually play well in the group games..The Russians are not the best of travellers but maybe that will change after their UEFA Cup win this year.
For me ....not many goals in this and the Spanish to edge it maybe 1-0 or 2-0. Greece v Sweeden.....Greece the holders will be fired up against the Swedes........Another low scoring game in my opinion with the Greeks just pervailing by the odd goal... my bet would be a .....SPAIN and GREECE win double |
Spain v Russia
Spain are grinders - not flash, do the business, goal scored, shut down - might catch a second on the break - Again I don't see a high scoring game. Interestingly the last game between these two was a 0-0 draw, and baring in mind niether team could afford to loose - I think this is going to be France game all over again - Spain trying to score their goal - Russia defending to the hilt and trying to score on the counter attack. That aside - I see this as being a Spanish win, but I think its going to be hard work for them, and possibly 1-0! Draw Spain HT/Ft is 4.33 - and this would be my bet for this game. Greece v Sweeden Whats going to win out - Sweedens defence or Greece's attack - Greece don't really do 0-0 games! Sweeden however, don't do high scoring games (they only scored 3 against Lichtenstein and 2 against Montenegro!). I'm tempted again with a HT/FT result of Draw/Greece at 7.0 Got to say at 7.0 for me this would be my bet of the day |

£15.00 staked yesterday with returns of £21.65 (profit of £6.65) but we still have £5.00 running on holland @ 15.50 which after last night is looking a cracking price! |
I think Spain will handle Russia fairly comfortably in their opening fixture...they will want to get off to a good start and should do, with probably a 2-0 win along the lines that Portugal eventually saw off Turkey. However I cant find much value in this game for betting purposes....its how long Russia can hold them out for, and personally I think they will do well to get to HT level. There is EVS on offer for the first goal to be scored after the 28th minute....either this or Spain to win -1 goal at 21/10 would be my selection, but would be happy to leave this game alone.
Greece V Sweden is a much better betting proposition. Neither team come into the tournament expecting great things, but both teams will see an opportunity to finish 2nd in the group behind Spain. I LOVE the value of either side winning at HT and it being a draw at FT (14/1 both) as I can see a 1-1 draw here with both teams being satisfied by this result. Its fairly skinny, but Greece +1 at 1/2 seems a knocking bet, with it going hand in hand with the above should it be Greece/Sweden winning at HT with a draw at FT. |
