After reading a post by American Mike Caro you'd have to say he could be right :brains:
Here's his reasoning ..
Announcers are saying England is all but eliminated from the World Cup after losing both their first two games. But they're wrong.
England has an excellent chance of advancing with one game to go in the group round.
Just ask yourself what's likely to happen in the final three matches:
Italy vs. Costa Rica, Italy vs. Uruguay, and England vs. Costa Rica.
It's likely that Italy will finish 3-0, and all other teams will be 1-2. Among those, England has the best chance of having the best goal differential (the tie breaker), having only lost by one goal each game.
I think you could get very favorable odds to bet that Italy and England will be the two teams to advance from that group.
And I would take those odds. Simple math. Might not happen, but good bet ;)
