with euro 2008 just around the corner who do you guys fancy for the tournament?

i really fancy croatia @ 14/1!

so many markets to choose from, im drooling!

both teams to qualify from their group

group A

i havent decided yet between portugal and c rep @ 2.73 or portugal and switzerland @ 3.94

c rep arent the team they were 4-6 years ago and with switzerland having home advantage i think they could go through with portugal.

the 1st game between switzerland and c rep is crucial with the winners going through, but i think it will be a 1-1 draw

group B

got to be germany and croatia for me @ 1.83, i think both teams will be too strong for poland and austria, poland had a very good qualifying campaign, but germany and croatia are a step above them

group C

really really tough group to predict this, any of 2 these 4 could go through, the bookies are massivly under estimating romania in my opinion, they are a very decent team and had a great qualifying campaign. very crucial game the 1st one v france, my early thoughts are that holland and france will go through @ 4.09

group D

spain and russia for me @ 3.86

spain should comfortably top the group and i think russia are better than greece and sweden

bet365 have group forecast where u pick who will come 1st and 2nd in each group, the minimum odds for picking the 1st and 2nd in each of the 4 groups is 355/1 (thats picking the 2 favs from each group) if u can find the 2 qualifiers from each group you can make a good bit of cash here, if the 2 favs from each group go through thats 355/1

once u pick you're 2 from each group and perm your bets so either can come 1st or 2nd it is a total of 16 bets, so for £16 you are looking at a minimum of £355 returns for finding the 2 qualifiers from each group, got to be worth a punt this bet!!

leading goalscorer

couple of players stand out for me, benzema at 33/1 is a crazy price, but i am not too sure if he is going to play, he never played in the qualifiers, if he starts for france 33/1 must be snapped up at 1/4 odds 1,2,3,4 place, you are getting 8.25 that he finishes in he top 4.

others that stand out are martin petric (croatia) @ 40/1, huntelaar (holland) @ 50/1, klose (germany) @ 9/1 and torress (spain) @ 11/1

longshot is pavlychenko (russia) @ 125/1

its going to be 3 weeks of cracking football and hopefully plenty of profit!

switzerland wont get out of their group

so whoever wrote that is wrong there, and croatia wont get to the semis let alone win it

and there is no such player as martin petric he is called mladen petric, and he wont be anywhere near top scorer as he hardly ever plays let alone scores

I was happy to leave you to it after my first rant but when you blatently lie to me, its like a red rag to a bull. We all know who u are now and that you will lie about it, the posts show exactly the same style of writing about the same subjects. Ive known from the minute you arrived on this forum and gave you a chance. Im now telling others because money will be involved, and gave you the chance to own up to what i first posted and get it out in the open and start again. On Ladbrokes old forum, i remember lots of bravado betting between, "mystery" and "ruddock", also "mystery" and "plymlegend" about whose football team would finish higher in the league, the threads went on for months, and to be honest they were boring to me and others, because there was only going to be one result.."Bets being called off"
Now im not condoning or agreeing with any of those that were involved, and maybe any of these people aren't " themanwiththeknow", but in my opinion they were all betting a loser and really couldn't have hoped to get paid.
It was a open forum that had many people, acting like they were "Rambo" with people saying such thing's as, "I bet you "blah blah blah" and loads of nonsense poker challenges and football challenge bets . The trouble is, once a bet like that is placed verbally on a open forum, your first thought is, "will i get paid if i win and in reality you know you wont
My thoughts are as to whether anyone here was involved in these betting rows, "well should they have paid or been paid" or, "could they expect to have been paid".............No, not really !!!
I know all about 'gentleman's agreement's' and 'men of honour' and 'my word is my bond' but as i have said that was an open forum, full of "Rambo's" chanting "don't push me" !!.... I feel that if "manwiththeknow" wants to run a competition that he his going to finance for the forum members to enjoy and benefit from...that's great. However, nobody should be asked to to put monies into an event that is controlled by someone, taking that money to put into an account owned by the organiser !!
Finally i would like to thank "Pkaplaya" for bringing the matter to the forum member's attention and over these last months he has been a person i have grown to respect, not just his knowledge of racing and sports but also for the way he conduct's and writes his post's, with great enthusiasm that brings us together as a community
So if all you guys want to do this football competition fine, as long as nobody has to part with money, i cant see a problem..!!
